Creating an account on YouTube is simple, and building a channel for your brand is quick and easy. But at a time when most brand managers know the potential of this video-hosting medium, it’s not enough to simply have a presence. A brand must stand out to viewers by turning its channel into a destination. Otherwise, it runs the risk of getting lost among the more than 3 billion videos already viewed on YouTube each day.

3 Reasons Why Branding is Critical for Even the Smallest of Businesses
You might think that branding is for the big guys. Sure, it’s fine for P&G and Microsoft but not for you.
Stop and consider this: No matter the business or market—no matter how big or small—there’s one immutable truth: you already have a brand. You created your brand the moment you started your business
Your brand is a reflection of everything you do: the way you talk about your business, the emails you send to prospects and customers, the website you’ve struggled to put up, the content you create, the Tweets you post, the collateral that’s floating around, and the business cards you hand out.
The list is endless.

Facebook Timeline and Business Pages, Perfect Together
Facebook told marketers that its new Timeline interface would improve
consumer interaction with brands. Timeline is living up to that
promise, according to a new study.
The study, by Seattle-based social engagement analytics firm Simply Measured, focuses on 15 large brands, including Toyota, Ben & Jerry's, and The Humane Society. It compares each brand's engagement rate with its fans both before and after Timeline was made available earlier this month.

Marketing Communication Is Not Brand Strategy
I have found that a common error advertising agencies commit is
equating brand strategy with brand messaging and marketing
communication. While brand messaging is an important part of brand
strategy, it misses many other potential components of brand strategy.
Think of the types of decisions FMCG brand managers need to make –
product, product range, bundling/unbundling, packaging, pricing,
sourcing, distribution, trade agreements and communication
decisions...to name a few. If the brand exists at an organizational
level, add to that business and business model strategy (including
business philosophy, vertical and horizontal integration, business
portfolio, erecting barriers to entry, amount of investment in R&D
and innovation, etc.).
