3 Smart Ways To Fix Your Blog Post Headline Right Now

Can you write a clickable headline?  write good headline

Would you take action today if I show you how to fix your blog post headline in simple and practical ways?
If you answered yes, then welcome. Writing catchy and reader-friendly headline is an art. I like revealing my secrets.
Really, it takes knowledge and experience to craft the right ones. Since I started blogging, I’ve looked into my headline writing as a study on its own.

I spent 30 minutes figuring out how to catch readers’ attention via headline on this post.

Why Great Headline Is Vital

Apart from the clicks you would get, a great headline would help the reader envisage how the content is. If the content is weak, generic and quirky, it usually shows up in the headline.

On the other hand, I’ve seen clickable headlines, got hooked to it but was disappointed because the information on the article didn’t live up to expectations.

But that’s not what we’re aiming for. Our goal is to write a catchy headline and also make the article itself interesting and valuable.

I’ve been blogging for a while now, and I use these simple ways to fix my headlines. Enjoy and implement the tips.

Ask Close-ended Question

This concept is quite new to blogging and I’m confident you’ll like it. There are two types of questions you could ask readers in your headline. The first is open-ended question and the other, close-ended question.

What’s the difference between the open and close-ended questions?

I’ll illustrate with two examples each. But first, when you ask an open-ended question in the headline, you’re giving the reader the opportunity to think-out-of-the-box. It’s an open field where they can choose whatever they want.

This type of question is not ideal for your headlines – it breeds confusion. It’s not concise. See example:

“Do You Want To Make Money Online?”

“How Do You Setup A Small Business Online?

Although these headlines might seem good at the surface, but it lacks objective. If someone asks if you want to make money online, is there any business model he’s chosen for you? Are the steps to make extra money well-planned?

Use Close-ended Questions Instead

Yes, close-ended questions are the best when it comes to blogging and writing good and clickable headlines.

This type of headline tells the reader how to achieve a particular thing. It’s specific, focused and memorable – it commands action. It works because the human brain processes one idea at a time – first come first served!

When you ask a close-ended question in the headline, the reader or prospect has no other choice than to click. It speaks directly to their needs and how to solve them without digressing. Consider these examples:

“Do You Want To Increase Affiliate Income By 203%?”

“How Can I Create A WordPress Blog In 15 Minutes?”

As you can see from the examples, the close-ended doesn’t permit readers to stretch their thoughts. It’s a direct response to the problems they face. Always use this type of questions when writing your post headlines.

Add Figures To Your Headline

The best way to fix your headline right now is by adding a figure to it. A figure can be numbers (1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9…) or percentage (%). Would you like to read 50+ Funny Ways To Dazzle Blog Readers? Click here

If you observed carefully, most headlines that piqued your mind were written with numbers or a percentage. The vital thing to remember is that blog readers and prospects have problems, and they’re counting on you to solve at least one of them.

When you specifically write a headline and include “7 ways,” or a number, something strong will start moving inside the readers’ mind. Also, having “75%” or similar percentages in the headline can speak so much volume to the reader.

So, instead of writing, “Best Ways To Improve SEO Ranking,” add a number or a percentage to make it specific. Thus:

“Best Ways To Improve SEO Ranking” becomes “7 Best Ways To Improve SEO Rankin” or “Best Ways To Improve SEO Ranking By 87%.”
Go and fix your headline now

What are you waiting for? Are you satisfied with your headline writing skills? As I said earlier, you’ve to keep writing headlines and learn from experienced copywriters to see what they’re doing right. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel – join the chariots baby.
